Happy Birthday Brodie

This is my 7 year old cat horder! He got two tigers and a webkin for his birthday. The Henry family was nice enough to give him an I-touch and I-tunes card which he absolutely LOVES. You would think this would be it. However, he had so much more in store.

The Brey Surprise!

Brodie has been Brey Cook obsessed for quite some time. So on his birthday Brey was nice enough to surprise him on the playground at recess. He was so very happy. Brey played basketball and football with Brodie and his friends. It truely was a magical moment. What a wonderful opportunity. That night we went to the Razorback Baseball game. When we got out of the car we saw Michael Sanchez so Brodie got to meet him and get his picture taken with him. Another big moment for a little boy who loves basketball. Leaving the game the usher gave Brodie a fly ball. I really hated to take him home, because so many wonderful things happened to him. I was afraid we might miss the next wonderful thing! I'm really not sure we will be able to top this birthday.

We havae learned to ride the bike!

Brodie had such a mental block about riding his bike. When I took the training wheels off his bike he just wouldn't even try to ride it. He had been invited to birthday parties where he was supposed to bring his bike but he would not go because he didn't want to have to use training wheels or admit he couldn't ride. Finally on a beautiful warm day between snowstorms we went out and conqured the beast! It took all of two minutes or less to do it. Next hurdle - roller skating!

Basketball Season 2011!

Brodie LOVES basketball. As I write this he is using the living room as a basketball court. In my opinion he is really good too, but that is just me!

Big Day

We had to wake Brodie up for the 2nd year in a row, but he was happy to see the cheetah and snow leopard that he wanted for Christmas.

Christmas play 2010

Brodie was an elf in his Christmas play at The New School this year.
This was fitting as he loved the show Elf when we went to New York.

Playing piano at the nursing home

In December Brodie's piano teacher set up a recital at the University of Arkansas. He would play on a baby grand piano on a big stage. We were so excited. Prior to that he invited himself to go with his friend Xavier and his piano teacher to play at the nursing home. He went up and played Doe a Dear from the Sound of Music. It was a really fun time. It was a really good thing he participated in this "recital" as I wrote his recital down on the wrong date so we totally missed it. I was really upset, but I guess it all worked out. I was really proud of Brodie. Even though he was very uncomfortable talking to the residents he pushed himself to do it.
